Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Shawn Trosper has been employed by Bedford County Schools since 2006. He began his career at Liberty High School. He remained there for 7 years while teaching social studies and coaching baseball and basketball. In 2012, he was hired as the Assistant Principal at Staunton River Middle School and served in that position for four years. He was the principal at Moneta Elementary from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, Dr. Trosper became the first principal of Liberty Middle School.  Finally, he served as principal at Liberty High School from 2019-2021.


Dr. Trosper earned a Bachelor of Science degree in social sciences in 2006 and a Master’s degree in administration and supervision in 2010; both from Liberty University. He earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech University in 2017. His dissertation was called, “Safe School Building Characteristics in Virginia’s Elementary Schools: Architect and Principal Perspectives.”
