Dr. Josh Cornett has served as Executive Director of School Administration since July 1, 2021. He began his teaching career in 2003 at Jefferson Forest High School (JFHS) as an Algebra teacher. He was named the 2008 JFHS Teacher of the Year and served as an assistant baseball coach before serving as an assistant principal at JFHS in 2009. Dr. Cornett then served Staunton River High School as an assistant principal for 5 years before becoming principal for 6 years.
Dr. Cornett earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics from Bluefield College in 2003 and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lynchburg College in 2007. He completed the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Doctoral Program at Virginia Tech in 2015.
Josh currently resides with his wife, Heather, and sons, Porter and Penn, in Bedford County.
