School Nursing Services

The role of the school nurse is to support student success in education. According to the National Association of School nurses, "school nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success, and lifetime achievement of students." BCPS is proud to have a registered nurse in each of our schools. BCPS is committed to meeting the health care concerns of our students. The responsibilities of the school nurse are very broad. In addition to managing the clinic visits on a daily basis, they also review student records for compliance of state health mandates, perform required screenings, consult with parents and other health professionals, promote health education for students and staff, and advocate for the needs of children. The school nurses give parents, students and staff comfort and peace of mind knowing they can count on the nurse in their time of need.

If you need to speak with a school nurse, please contact your school directly. Visit the School Directory page.
