Bedford County Public Schools will host Virginia Preschool Initiative (VPI) registration from 9:00-3:00 on April 4, 2014 in selected elementary schools. Kindergarten registration will be held on Wednesday, April 9 from 8:30-3:30 in each elementary school (except Bedford Elementary). Please contact the elementary school in your attendance zone for more information, and be prepared to bring your child’s birth certificate, social security number, proof of residency, immunization record and report of physical examination (along with income documentation for preschool).

Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Prevention Training
The responsibility for protecting students from sexual misconduct and abuse is shared by the school board, school board employees, school volunteers, parents, state agencies, and law enforcement. Wearing seat belts is not only the law, but it saves lives! Did you know that the National Safety Council reports that more than 75,000 lives were saved over four years by simply clicking a seat belt? For the remainder of the year, seat belt checks will be conducted by state and local police officers near our high schools. Take a moment to “Click it!” It may save you a ticket, and, more importantly, it may save your life!
