CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) SCHOOL CLOSURE
Bedford County Public Schools will be closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year, as ordered by Governor Northam. 

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has developed a parent resource on how to talk about this important health topic with your child. The CDC provides daily updates and health-related guidance in regards to COVID-19 if further information is needed for your family.

PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION 
Preschool and Kindergarten registration have been postponed. We will post the new registration dates as soon as they are rescheduled. Please check our Preschool & Kindergarten Information page for future updates.

STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR 2019-2020
Student registration for 2019-2020 is now closed. PowerSchool Enrollment is an online student registration service. Student registration for 2020-2021 will be available soon. Please check back for more information.

CHANGE OF SCHOOL NAME 
During the School Board meeting on Thursday, February 6, 2020, our School Board unanimously voted to change the name of Bedford Science & Technology Center to Susie G. Gibson Science & Technology Center. The building, previously Susie G. Gibson High School, was built in 1954 as a segregated school for African Americans. Mrs. Gibson was a well-known and respected member of the Bedford community who dedicated herself to her students and school.
