Speech-Language Screenings
Routine speech-language screenings are conducted for new elementary students by the Speech Language Pathologists as mandated by the Virginia Department of Education. Students are screened in the areas of speech, voice, and language. If a student fails the screening, the results will be provided to the parent.
Vision and Hearing Screenings
Per the state requirement, the following students will have a vision and hearing screening by the school nurses. If a student fails the screening, the parent will receive a letter with the results and a recommendation for an assessment with a healthcare provider.

Students in kindergarten if there are no documented screenings on their physical.

Students transferring from out of state.

Students entering public school for the first time.

Students in 3rd, 7th and 10th grades.
