Bedford County offers a variety of preschool opportunities.  Application Intake for the preschool programs begins each spring before the child enters Pre-K.  Head Start Preschool Programs have spaces for three and four year old children.   Virginia Preschool Initiative Programs (VPI) have spaces for four year old children.  These programs receive funds from the local, state and federal level.  Programs are contingent upon funding & program locations are subject to change.  Eligibility to participate is based on state and federal guidelines.  Each classroom will enroll the children who are most eligible based on the application process.  Please register at the school in your attendance zone. Early Childhood Special Education programs (ECSE) are offered to children with disabilities and the referral process is ongoing.
